Autumn 2019

WOW! Look at us now!

If you haven’t been by recently, we have updated our mural from a sports theme to a garden theme in keeping with the influences of the Kingston Road Village Community Association and the Dr. David Suzuki butterfly-way project.

With its big, bright, bold orange butterfly dominating the mural, it is a symbol of our transformation into a full service clinic over the years. Many thanks to the team at Community Centre 55 who have outdone themselves once again.

In keeping with the same theme, we have also transformed the clinic by adding new services!!

We would like to introduce David Ferguson, licensed RMT. David will be available on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 10-7. Contact David by phone at (416) 699-0336 or email activehealingcentre@sympatico.ca.

David has recently graduated from Bryan College as a certified RMT. He is originally from the United Kingdom but immigrated to Canada in May 2012.

He has always been interested in exercise and rehabilitation. In the United Kingdom, David received his National Qualification and Certification in health, fitness and exercise.

David has a strong involvement and participation in soccer and badminton. He also has previous experience coaching junior soccer overseas.

David is looking forward to working at Active Healing Centre. He hopes to specialize in athletic therapy along with a number of other modalities as his career progresses.

David’s philosophy is to focus on the client’s needs in order to reach their therapeutic goals. He will discuss treatment and focus on areas that provide the most benefit.

With David’s addition to our staff, Active Healing Centre is now open 7 days a week for your massage therapy needs.

Tatiana Smirnova, ND has introduced PEMF therapy to her patients. It is a safe, noninvasive therapy effective in decreasing pain, increasing rate of healing and repairing muscles. We are proud to say that we are only 1 of 20 clinics in Ontario that offer this type of specialty service.
Kathleen Browne, RN is currently enrolled in advanced skin care training, with a focus in oncology facials. This is a skill that eases the pain and anxiety that cancer patients experience during treatment.

It aligns perfectly with Kathleen’s many years of nursing experience.

In keeping with our award-winning clinic, Edward Tonus, RMT has been recognized for his dedication to the profession and his professional association, and has been awarded a Lifetime Membership in the Registered Massage Therapy Association of Ontario (RMTAO). Congratulations Ed!
