To Sleep, Perchance to Dream 

Have you ever had such a restful sleep, that nothing ever hurt when you woke up? To get adequate sleep, you need 7-8 hours to fully recharge and awake refreshed.

Our posture can have an impact on the amount of satisfying sleep which we get, especially from the position it's in. Consider these tips, and gain some helpful hints to get you through the night.


Do you wake up with tingling fingers or heaviness in your arms? Is your arm over your head?

  • This can be alleviated with a pectoralia stretch and prevention of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Is your jaw sore? Do you clench or grind your teeth?

  • See your Dentist for possible intervention (plate for bruxism). Or perhaps you need help in releasing the muscles of the jaw and preventing TMJ.

Is your back sore? This can be attributed to sleeping on your stomach.

  • To alleviate this position, either place a pillow underneath your hips to flatten out your lower back OR tape ping pong balls to your chest to break the habit

Is your neck sore? It could be from inadequate pillow support or twisting your head to breathe

  • Either change your pillow or get a body pillow which allows you to breathe without compromising your health.

Whoever thought that having a good night's rest could ever be so complicated.
