With long-awaited anticipation for students and teachers alike, March Break is finally here!
For one week, there will not be any thoughts of reading nor studying for tests of any kind. It will be just one week of harmony, bliss and relaxation, with lots of sleeping in. This will soon be replaced with… “Mom, I’m bored.”
If you’re lucky enough to secure a vacation in the sun, keep your patience and wits about you as you contend with the long lineups at the airport. Travelling isn’t as fun as it used to be.
I wish you nothing but good health during this vacation.
However if you get injured, the word BREAK will take on a very different meaning, as it may lead to increased pain and discomfort. Not to mention, putting a damper on your holiday plans.
If you are unfortunate enough to get injured, here are a few options for your recovery:
- Follow the RICE method for injuries; -Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation
- See a Physiotherapist, who will assess and treat the area of injury
- Getting a Massage treatment, speeds up the healing process
- Follow the recommendations of a Naturopath to sustain the healing. The active ingredient in pineapple is bromelain, a natural anti-inflammatory
So have fun, take care and we’ll deal with the injuries together.
See your doctor if the pain persists or doesn’t go away within a day or two.
See your therapist if treatment is recommended.
